Have you ever lost a memory?

Have you ever lost a memory?

Have you ever lost a memory?
One that you should never have had
Never had in the first place
One that slipped into your life
And took your breath away
The eyes the could see pasted the facade
Look into your soul
And take your beating heart in their hands
All you wish is that they would keep it
But instead throw it back in your face
The echoes of their laughter
Sliding across the water
A silvery ghost
Like a bad van gosh painting
One the brother could not sell
A moon high up
The reflection off the water
And maybe a boat just off to the left
Unfinished words like that painting
Discarded

Even Angels cry

Even Angels cry

Even Angels cry
What makes such a creature shed tears?
Is it because they once had a soul
They remember the one that broke their essence
Now and again memories appear
Like ghosts on the wind
A smell, a taste, a glance
The Figure only an outline
There one second then gone
Memories crash them angels down
Tears dropping from no where
The figure fresh in their minds
Like a puff of smoke
Apart of their makeup
A place, a time of year or the color of snow
Bring those memories back
Like the shadows on a broken rock
Sounds of the shadows a gift to only those that can hear
Hills angels run from
As the rocks come tumbling down
Their wings clipped just enough
That their tears make their cheeks hurt
Memories fresh in their mind
Of the person they once were
The outline of the person they are so connected to
Regrets they turned their backs on
Angels can be puffs of smoke too

Black sun

Black sun

Black sun, white orchids
Looking at the world,
Through black and white sun glasses
Were are the grays
Were are the colours
Asked for just one angel
Heard nothing but static on the line
Searching for happiness
And finding despair
Residue in the clouds above
In the music on the ground
Foot steps in my mind
Lame I know
Every one settled in their comfort zone
To scared to take a step
Wandering through this ice age
Reaching out for an unattainable aspiration
Settling for nothing except perfection
Painted faces on
Narcissistic actions demanding beck and call
Looking at the world through negative glasses
Seeing black suns and white orchids
Beautiful people on the dance floor
With their arms up high
Dieing before you
Like time lap movies
Music plays on
As the coffin slams shout
Clues with in metaphors
Hidden behind similes
Images screaming to be heard
As the water drops down
From the frozen mirrors
Dreams can wrap you up
And keep you warm

Even mimes tell stories

Even mimes tell stories

Even mimes tell stories
They stand out in a crowd
Face all white in a mask
Simple black clothing

All the characters on a baseball team
Simplicity in their every action
The dialog in everyone’s mind
The story is the same from country to country
Dialog the only thing that deviates

A team of one
Pitcher, batter, catcher and the umpire
A strike or a home run
The mime stays in the same spot

Faces in the crowd change
People talking starting each sentence
With “I “or “me” but never we
The mime looks up to the stars
Puts his imaginary hat on
Staying in one spot walks into future

Even mimes tell stories
All the characters on a baseball team
Simplicity in their every action
The dialog in everyone’s mind
The mime looks up to the stars
Puts his imaginary hat on
Staying in one spot walks into future

Lost soul

Lost soul

Awaking from the anesthetic
An operation with no pain killer
Open heart surgery
For my heart and soul has been
Given to another
Yet tossed aside unwanted
Actions and words have no effect
Salvation thrown into the wind
Lost my soul
Wonders the land obliterated
And brittle,
Shattered with jagged wounds
Cradling my thoughts
Moaning in the fetal position
And smiling at the world
Yet gyrating out of control
Tingles dance down my spine
It is numbing, relentless, and unbearable
An abandoned heart left to inherit the wind
Granite façade with melancholy eyes
The embodiment of affliction

Looking like a model

Looking like a model

Looking like a model
from an Abercrombie And Fitch advertisement
She stands across the plat form
Thoughts appear in my mind
Strange and contradictory
The same set of Hox genes are in
frogs as are in humans
There are a minimum of thirty two amino acids
That needs to hook up to form the replicating protein
Random chance of forming is at ten to the power of forty one
The rain sluiced across all surfaces
Making the world appear insubstantial
And unreal
What are the chances of meeting a person that
Has all the qualities and ascetics
And can trust
Passing in a airport or on a beach
On a train or walking in park
What are the chances of her talking?
Willing to take a chance
Or even willing to stop
Against common sense

Life in mediocrity

Life in mediocrity

Tell me how you lived
With honesty in your heart
And truth in your veins
Happiest is an ideal
Seldom found and rarely realized
Some go through life in mediocrity
Settling for what is in their comfort zone
To scared to take two steps
Toward an ideal
Regretting every single day with every
Single breathe
The weight pressing your soul down
Be a single flower pushing its way through
the snow and the concrete
Fighting to breathe in the night sky
A perfect bloom in a sea of wishful thinking
Reach for the sky
Touch one soul is all it asks for
Cheese ball words flow across the paper
And the room in empty
The quietness echoes off the hard wood floor
Three books have been written
And they have no effect
My heart continue its journey
Broken glass on the floor
It will fade away in the sea
