Echoing Silence

Echoing silence
Waiting to know
What disease crept in?
A silence that will not let go
Hurting the ears
Cause the silence is too loud
Saving the world
As only one can do
Leaving one or two lingering words
Running away
Feeling like I have been tossed aside
One of the disposable people
Some one’s throwaway dude
Confirming what I already knew
Good enough to deliver the meds
Fill in an affidavit or two
Dying a minute at a time
Like it is such a good time
Confirming what I already know
Is there any happy people
Are we all rejection damaged
Hanging on the slightly used rack
At a second hand store
The best before date sun faded
Using a fake name

Hanging on the slightly used rack...some are located in the slightly damaged rack!

Children could be considered refurbished...

The main difference between "refurbished" and "used" products is that refurbished products have been tested and verified to function properly, and are thus free of defects, while "used" products may or may not be defective.

I think your confirming what the poet already knows except the children part.

Are you saying all children are refurbished because they have been damaged? And once they been refurbished they are tested and they function properly????

The question that comes to mind first when I read this is are all people damaged by rejection.
