So much sorrow

So much sorrow in the world
As life passes you by
Watching as loved ones die
In mind as well as body
Standing in front of you
Withering away like a wrinkle on the moon
A photo in a mirror you know so well
A person you waited a life time for
Nothing more than a drop off a spoon
So much sorrow in the world
Heard a story today
About a man who blood away
His sister died a year before
With a needle lodged in her vein
A family stuck in perpetual mourning
A man sings about hope
With a handle of a knife sticking out of his heart
Withering away with his reflection in a spoon
So much sorrow in the world
As life passes you by
Watching as loved ones fade
In their mind even as they walk the other way
Was it worth it languishing in regret?
Heard a story the other day
Were a kid was trapped be a crew
Making him do the running for the few
Things his mother wouldn’t want him to do
Getting high after the nightmare
Every morning at six hundred hours
Staying to high all day long
Just to make the dream go away
Watching his friends pass away
With knifes stuck in their chests
Walking miles down a path
Till their hearts turn to ash
A man sings of dreams
The hope beyond the languished
So much sorrow in the world
